Former high-profile United Progressive Party members Dr Edmond Mansoor and Sean Bird attended Friday’s executive meeting of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party on Nugent Avenue.

They were warmly welcomed, following their recent resignations from the UPP.
Dr Mansoor served as a minister in the Office of the Prime Minister while the UPP formed the Government, and was responsible for Broadcasting, Information and Telecommunications.
Sean Bird was the UPP’s candidate for St John’s Rural East, where he unsuccessfully contested the 2023 general elections.
Both were among several members to have exited the main opposition UPP in recent months.
