I passed the historic St Barnabas Anglican Church, one of our country’s landmarks, on my daily commute and it became a significant marker in my life. By the time I left Liberta school at age 29, I had spent almost one-third of my life teaching in that village. Very little has changed in 70 years in the physical appearance of the building. Whenever I drive by, it still brings back fond memories of my students and the welcoming community.
