State Media: Alexta Francis, 26, has been remanded for the alleged murder of St. Peter MP Asot Michael, following a rare early court session today. Investigators say the 54-year-old MP was discovered at his Dry Hill home last Tuesday with multiple stab wounds. A doctor confirmed his death about two hours later.
Police arrested Francis on Friday evening, and by Saturday, he was formally charged with murder. Francis’ attorney, Leon Symister, declined to comment after the hearing, which was over before the court’s regular 9 a.m. start. The next court date is set for February 5 for committal proceedings.
