The Seismic Research Centre of the University of the West Indies says five earthquakes have occurred within 15 miles of the east of Barbuda between Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.
The quakes ranged in magnitude from 4.8 and 3.7 and were felt in the sister isle as well as mainland Antigua. The first was recorded shortly before 5:30 Friday afternoon, while the fifth was felt about 5:48 Saturday morning.
No damage has been reported, but several residents have been spooked by the frequency of the tremors in such a short time.
