Born on November 28th, 1924, Mrs. Barton hails from the community of Liberta and has lived a life grounded in faith, kindness, and service to others. She was married to the late Mr. Selvyn Barton, and together they built a family and a legacy of love. Mrs. Barton is known for her friendly and approachable nature, and she is always ready to lend a helping hand. A God-fearing woman, she embraces life’s simple joys, with a special love for food.
Mrs. Barton’s positive, grateful attitude has been a defining feature throughout her life. Despite any challenges she has faced, she maintains a joyful outlook and rarely complains. Her wisdom shines through in her favourite quotes: “A little is much whilst God is in it” and “It’s better to say ‘here it is,’ than ‘where it is.’” These words reflect her humble, faith-driven perspective on life.
Her 100th birthday marks the 14th centenarian in Antigua and Barbuda, highlighting not only her achievement but also the resilience and enduring spirit of the nation’s people.
