Justice Jan Drysdale has thrown out the case challenging Agriculture Minister Hon. Anthony Smith Jr.’s status as an Independent Member of Parliament.
The judge dismissed the matter, citing insufficient evidence to support the constitutional motion filed by some constituents of All Saints West.

The decision follows arguments from Smith’s attorney, Dr David Dorsett, that the motion lacked valid grounds and included defective evidence.
The case arose after Smith’s exit from the opposition United Progressive Party (UPP) and his appointment as a government Minister.
