On Saturday, 15th February, the community of St. John’s Rural North will host its annual health fair under the auspices of the Northern Vybz Community Group and Hon. Charles ‘Max’ Fernandez, in collaboration with AUA and MBS.
From 8 AM to 1 PM, the Cedar Grove Community Clinic will be transformed into a family-friendly health fair offering a wide range of free services, including HPV Education, Heart Health Checks, HIV Testing, HPV Vaccination, Children’s Vaccination, Nutritional Counselling, Breast Examinations, Prostate Exams, BMI and Blood Pressure Testing, Glucose Testing, and much more.
In 2018, the focus was on women’s health, and in 2019, the focus shifted to men’s healthcare. This year, the event will prioritize the health of the entire family, including both seniors and children, ensuring that all community members benefit from the vital services on offer.
Minister Fernandez emphasized the importance of prioritizing health, stating, “Health screenings and preventive care are vital to living a long, healthy life. This health fair provides an incredible opportunity for everyone in our community to take charge of their health, get vital check-ups, and address potential concerns early on.”

To ensure that no one misses out, free transportation will be available from Yorks Village to the health fair at Cedar Grove. The event organizers express their gratitude to key stakeholders, including the Northern Vybz Community Group, the American University of Antigua, and the Medical Benefits Scheme, as well as the nurses and health professionals volunteering their time to make this event a success.
