Kaieteur News- A 29-year-old technician was on Thursday granted $75,000 bail after he appeared at Georgetown Magistrates’ Court to answer a charge of discharging a firearm.
Kwame Holder of Lot 52 Sandy Place Kitty Georgetown, was charged for discharging a firearm within 100 yards of public way on February 24, 2025 at Queen and Williams Streets Kitty. Holder pleaded not guilty after the charge was read to him by Acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty.
The prosecution had no objection to bail but they told the court that there is video footage available that will be shared to the court. The court heard from Holder who said he was on his way home when he was approached by police officers who arrested him. He said he was unsure why he was arrested and his family was unaware that he was arrested. Magistrate McGusty granted Holder bail in the sum of $75,000. The matter was adjourned to March 20, 2025.
