A poem for our Republic Anniversary
Mar 04, 2025
The flag and the dream
I raised a flag, a symbol bold,
Its colours bright, its story told;
I watched it flutter, high and free,
But lost its thread in history.
I sang a dream of unity,
Of one Guyana, strong and free;
I cast it out, a hopeful sound,
But where it landed, none could bound.
Long years had passed, the flag I found,
Still torn by winds, yet firm in ground;
And in the hearts of those who care,
The dream still lives, though worn and bare.
Talk half. Leff half
