Tucville and B.V Sec’ win Inter-Secondary School’s Tapeball C/ships

Kaieteur Sports- The Holy Family Bible Club concluded its Secondary Schools Tapeball Cricket Competition on Sunday at the National Cultural Centre Tarmac, with Tucville Secondary School thrashing Covent Garden Secondary to lift the Silvies General Industrial Store/Churches Chicken trophy.

The tournament featured 16 Bible Club teams in an intense eight-a-side, four-over Tapeball spectacle. Tucville Secondary emerged victorious, clinching the coveted Champions League trophy and medals after a thrilling finish, securing the win off the very last ball of the game.
The event was coordinated by James “Uprising” Lewis and organized by the Holy Family Bible Club. The final was a spectacle of excitement.
Batting first, Covent Garden posted an imposing 72-6 in their allotted four overs, with Orwin James top-scoring with a stylish 47 runs. Tucville’s bowling attack, led by Eshawn George and Wesley Cox, who took two wickets each, managed to restrict their opponents effectively.
Chasing 73 runs for victory, Tucville Secondary paced their innings well. Several batters made crucial contributions before falling, but they ultimately crossed the line at 73-6 off the final delivery. Despite Covent Garden’s loss, Mark July was a standout performer, finishing with impressive bowling figures of 3-4 during the run chase.

After the match, there was great excitement at the venue as the competition coordinator, James “Uprising” Lewis, presented the trophy and medals to the winning team.
Simultaneously, in the One Guyana 2025 Mash Cup finals, Beterverwagting (B.V.) Secondary defeated Covent Garden Secondary to win the One Guyana Inter-Secondary School Cricket Competition. Batting first, Covent Garden posted 72-4 in their allotted four overs, with Alex Singh top-scoring with 30 runs. Sachin Muniran was the chief wicket-taker for B.V. Secondary, claiming 3-26.
In response, B.V. Secondary raced to 73-6, securing the championship. The trophy and medals for this event were also donated by the Holy Family Bible Club.
