NASSAU, BAHAMAS- Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture Mario Bowleg told the media on Wednesday morning just ahead of Parliament; that the ministry has no jurisdiction who is named to the 2024 Bahamas Olympic Team.

Bowlegs comments come just hours after the Bahamas Olympic Committee named the team that will represent the country at the games. Lacarthea Cooper was not selected despite being recommended by The Bahamas Association of Athletics Associations for the team after placing in the top three at nationals last month.

However, 16-year-old Shania Adderley was named for the Paris 2024 Olympic team despite not delivering a top three time while competing in the recent Nationals.
