Kaieteur News- Two wins in two matches for Chase’s Academic Foundation in the 11th Annual Milo/Massy Under-18 Football Championship, as they dismantled West Demerara Secondary 11-0 in their second-round encounter yesterday at the Ministry of Education (MoE) ground.

The relentless attacking trio of Bryan Wharton, Isaiah Ifill, and Mark Glasgow tore through West Demerara’s defense, netting nine goals between them to secure Chase’s second victory.
Ifill opened the scoring for Chase with early goals in the 10th and 14th minutes. Captain Wharton added his first in the 25th minute, pushing the score to 3-0. Five minutes later, Wharton displayed his class with a stunning long-range strike to make it 4-0. Glasgow then found the net just before halftime. Ifill (37’) and Wharton (40’) added two more to further deflate West Demerara’s spirits, with Wharton completing his hat trick and Ifill capping off a four-goal haul in the 45th minute. Emmanuel Campbell (55’), Jashan Haynes (59’), and Glasgow (61’) rounded out the dominant 11-0 victory.
In other matches, Bartica Secondary secured a 4-2 victory over Carmel Secondary, with Arvel Smith scoring twice and Halzel Lyken and Reizer Reed each adding a goal. Santa Rosa Secondary maintained a perfect record with a 4-0 win over New Central High, thanks to goals from Daren Williams (4’), Enrique Williams (22’), Rupee Norton (55’), and Randy Chappelle (65’).
At the Queen’s College (QC) ground, Charlestown Secondary edged Brickdam Secondary 2-0 in a defense-heavy contest. The match was evenly contested until Omari Cassius broke the deadlock in the 38th minute. Brickdam pushed for an equalizer, but Charlestown’s Dequan Cox doubled the lead in the 56th minute. Charlestown’s defense held firm to secure the clean sheet.
Hope Secondary suffered their second tournament loss, falling 3-2 to Three Mile Secondary. Goals from Amare Caesar (8’), Meshach Williams (39’), and Travin Benjamin (50’) sealed the win. Meanwhile, South Ruimveldt Secondary played to a draw with New Amsterdam Secondary.

The tournament continues today at both venues. At the MoE ground, Bush Lot Secondary faces Ann’s Grove Secondary in Match #19 at 12:30 p.m. Over at QC ground, President’s College takes on Tutorial High. Other fixtures include Abram Zuil Secondary vs. West Minster Secondary, Waramuri Secondary vs. Vreed-en-Hoop Secondary, Dolphin Secondary vs. Yarrowkabra Secondary, and West Ruimveldt vs. St. John’s College.
