Ramdehol half-century, bowlers hand Select XI 32-run defeat

GCB U17 50-Over Inter- County Tournament Round 2…Berbice vs. Select XI
Kaieteur Sports- A composed half-century from skipper /all-rounder Romario Ramdehol coupled with sterling performances from his men with the ball, gave Berbice a 32-run win over the Select XI yesterday at the Transport Sports Club Ground.
Romario Ramdehol led his team with bat and chipped with a few wickets.
Ramdehol continued to solidify his name as one of the best all-rounders under the age of 19 in Guyana, leading the Berbicians with a run-a-ball 65, with five sixes and four fours.
Ravin Boodwah (18) and Adrian Hetmyer (10) were among the double figures scorers who helped the Ancient County team post their 157-10 in 35.5 overs.
Right-arm pacer Dennis Crossman snared 4-32 without completing his quota of 10 while left-arm spinner Gibraon Yacoob claimed 3-27 with off-break spinner Richard Ramdehol bagging 3-31.
The Select XI folded under the pressure of clinical bowling from leg-break spinner Feaz Baksh who starred with 4-20, while the talented Ramdehol returned with 2-19, both from their respective ten overs.
Thierry Henry (17), Nathaniel Ramsammy (17) and Shane Prince (14) hung around before their eventual demise but were integral in the XI crossing the three figure mark on the way to 125 all out after 44.1 overs, after the Berbicians never took their foot off the gas during defending their small total.
The third and final Round is set for Wednesday from 9:30 hours with Demerara playing the Berbicians at LBI Ground. (CR)
