Kaieteur News- A 59-year-old housewife was on Tuesday remanded to prison for possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.

  Shameena Budhu

The defendant identified as Shameena Budhu of Sand Road, Good Hope, Essequibo Coast, appeared at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Tamieka Clarke. She was arrested on March 30, 2025, at the said address and was charged for possession of 2.03 grams of cocaine.

Budhu pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The prosecution objected to bail and as a result, Budhu was remanded until her next court appearance scheduled for April 17, 2025.
