Public Works Ministry signs $1.7B in road works contracts for Reg. 3

Kaieteur News- The Ministry of Public Works on Saturday signed approximately $1.7 billion in contracts for several road works scheduled for across Region Three.

This is according to information provided on the Minister within the Ministry of Public Works, Deodat Indar’s Facebook page.
The minister stated that these projects are in keeping with the commitment made by President Irfaan Ali to the people of Region Three. The $1.7 billion project saw a total of 116 road contracts signed.
Minister Indar, at a simple signing ceremony, urged the contractors to execute their projects according to the high standards set by the ministry.
“The minister also emphasized the need for the timely completion of the road projects and to adopt a work ethic that minimizes inconvenience to residents,” the post stated.
This publication understands that the Public Works Ministry has been rehabilitating and constructing roads across the country to enhance not only their conditions but also improve the accessibility of residents living in those communities.
To support its various road programmes for this year, the ministry was allocated over $50 billion from the national budget.
