19 vacancies to be filled at new No. 75 Village Regional Hospital

Kaieteur News- The Regional Democratic Council (RDC) of Region Six is currently seeking individuals to fill several positions at the new No. 75 Village Regional Hospital, Corentyne which is scheduled to be operational in a few months.

The Regional Administration in a notice is inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill some 19 positions at the new hospital.
Among the vacancies are Transport Officer, Receptionist, Accounts Clerk II, Accountant, Confidential Secretary, Clerk II General, Data Entry Clerk, Office Assistant Emergency Medical Services Driver, Vehicle Driver, Handyman, Storekeeper II, Store Clerk, Statistical Clerk, Patient Advocate, Electrician, Incinerator Operator, Plumber, and a Medical Records Clerk.
The notice states that interested persons can submit all applications along with a detailed curriculum vitae to: [email protected] or to the Regional Office at New Amsterdam. The deadline for the submission of the applications is May 9, 2025.
The No. 75 Regional Hospital in Region Six is one of 12 new hospitals that the government is building across the country.
Further, the No.75 Regional Hospital is one of six new regional hospitals that is being constructed by contractors China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd. (CAMCE) and China National Machinery Industry Corporation (SINOMACH).
The hospitals which cost $6.6 billion each are located at Lima Sands in Region Two, De Kinderen in Region Three, Diamond on the East Bank Demerara, Enmore on the East Coast of Demerara in Region Four, Bath Settlement in Region Five, and at No. 75 Village in Region Six.
Regarding the No. 75 Hospital, the ministry had reported that this state-of-the-art facility will feature 75 in-patient beds, three large operating theatres, one minor operating theatre, a neonatal unit, a modern lab and other modern amenities and services.
This modern hospital when completed will replace the current Skeldon Hospital and provide a wide range of healthcare services.
Meanwhile, Kaieteur News reported recently that Vice President (VP), Bharrat Jagdeo said the government will recruit professionals from any part of the world to staff the 12 new hospitals.
“The president has said clearly to Minister Anthony, recruit from any part of the world. We want when these hospitals come into operation, that our people can walk in and get the best service it would have…this is not PPP or APNU or AFC. We don’t do a litmus test, who goes to our hospitals…We want them to get the best quality,” the VP said during his press conference last week.
Jagdeo made it clear that if there are not enough nurses or technicians then Guyana will import them to bridge the skills gap. He said despite the human resource challenges, the government must continue to pursue paths that will benefit the citizens.
