Kaieteur News- Jer Sweany Calder, the driver of the car that was captured by the speed clock going at 152kM, was fined $40,000 when he appeared at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

Calder, who was arrested on April 8, 2025, also faced another charge of prohibition of tinted glass and obscured identification mark. Police said Calder exceeded the speed limit along Mon Repos Public Road, East Coast Demerara (ECD), while driving a motor car bearing registration number PAJ 4671.

He was arraigned before Magistrate Abigail Gibbs. Calder pleaded guilty to the two charges and was subsequently fined $7,000 for the prohibition of tinted glass charge and $40,000 for the obscured identification mark charge.
