Jun 15, 2025
Dem Boys Seh…
Kaieteur News – Dem boys seh life got it own kind of lottery. A big plane crash in India kill more than 200 people—men, women, children, people on de ground. Yet one man walk out alive. With a few burns and bruises. And dust and disbelief.
And just like that, people start holler: “God save he! Is a miracle!”
Dem boys seh is easy fuh say that when yuh standing far from de wreckage. But if is miracle, then is a mystery too. Because if one soul was saved by divine grace, what happen to de others? Was de rest not deserving? Was de universe short on mercy that day?
Look, dem boys nah trying to question faith. Everybody need something to hold on to when the world feel like it cracking in two. But sometimes, we does use God to fill in de blanks we too afraid to face.
Dem boys seh maybe we too quick to explain de unexplainable. Maybe we need to admit we just don’t know. Maybe the man survive because randomness ain’t got no manners. Tragedy don’t take roll call. It don’t ask age, background, or number of prayers said before bedtime.
People seh “God save he,” but what if de real miracle is that anybody walk out at all? What if life, with all its twists and terrors, just throw one dice too many and it land on his side?
Dem boys seh sometimes is not God playing favourites, but we playing ourselves—trying to make sense of chaos with sweet-sounding explanations.
So while we glad the man live, let we not dress up tragedy in robes of righteousness. Let we mourn de loss, comfort de grieving, and admit that some things—no matter how much we pray or ponder—just don’t make sense.
Because dem boys seh if God got a plan, He keeping it real quiet. And maybe, just maybe, we not supposed to understand it all.
Talk half. Leff half.
