On Friday, August 15, Brigilio Ack, a 39-year-old police officer of Mahogany Heights, Belize District, was sentenced to serve 8 months in the Belize Central Prison after being convicted for engaging in inappropriate behavior towards a female police officer in March 2023 at the Rocky Road Police Booth in Belize City.

Ack was accused of inappropriately touching, squeezing, and kissing his colleague. At the time of the incident, he touched the female officer on both of her legs without her consent while both were on duty in the early hours of the day.

Hours later, Ack went even further and squeezed both of the female officer’s breasts and kissed her on the neck. Even though the female officer told him to stop, Ack refused to do so.

During Ack’s trial, which began in January 2024, the victim recounted the assault.

Ack, who was out on bail since the incident occurred, was found guilty on Friday, Augusto 15.
