  A young man was gunned down on Rosalind Bradley Street in the Lake Independence area of Belize City on Wednesday evening, August 27, after visiting his girlfriend, who resides in the area.
  Shortly before 5:00 p.m. that Wednesday, the deceased, 20-year-old Rasheed Parham of Belize City, was departing from his girlfriend‘s home, when two unknown gunmen emerged from an abandoned lot and fired several shots in his direction.
  Parham tried to flee from the gunmen, but was wounded multiple times and later collapsed in front of his girlfriend’s residence. He was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
  While it is unknown why Parham was targeted, it has been confirmed that he was not from the area, which is known as a gang territory dominated by the Peace in the Village (PIV) group.
