NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The temporary closure of Sandals Emerald Bay in Exuma, for multi-million dollar upgrades, has not only prompted government to host a job fair on the island to assist with the redeployment of Bahamians who will be left without a job over the next 6-8 months of renovations, but Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper revealed that the Davis administration will also seek to help expunge the records of individuals who have minor criminals offenses; it’s a move which he said will further assist prospective job seekers with landing employment.

The job fair is slated for August 9, 2024, according to Cooper.

The Sandals Emerald Bay, Exuma resort employed some 400 Bahamians, and Cooper shared that efforts are being undertake to redeploy as many workers as possible to other Sandals properties.
