─ suspect in Brick’s abduction turns self in
Kaieteur News has been able to confirm that Lolita Callender better known as Lola Doll has named her shooter in a cell-phone recorded video widely circulated on social media platforms.
The local artiste, businesswoman and social media personality recorded the video from her hospital bed. She identified the shooter by an alias.
“I saw the person that try to take my life, yes I saw him” she said before adding “I am happy that no bullet went to my head to kill me.”
She then pleaded for justice from the Guyana Police Force after identifying her shooter.
Hours after the video surfaced, a Facebook post named Wayne Barker as a possible suspect.
Wayne Barker is a defendant in a court case for the abduction of Joshua David, also known as “Bricks” last September.
Although police have not issued a wanted bulletin for him, Kaieteur News has confirmed that he had turned himself in to police in the company of his lawyer after seeing his photo published on social media platforms linking him to the Lola doll shooting.
Lola Doll was shot several times last Saturday, while sitting in her car parked infront of her East Ruimveldt home.
Footage from CCTV cameras have revealed the shooter to be a man on a motorcycle.
Police have arrested two persons so far in their investigations. Both have since been released on station bail after the 72 hours of them being in custody expired.
The first suspect was arrested hours after the shooting. Police never identified the individual but reported that he was released on $500,000 bail.
A wanted bulletin was issued for the second suspect arrested in the case.
He was identified as U.S. sanctioned businessman Paul Daby Jr. better known as “Randell”. Daby was released on a $1 million station bail.
