   The body of a British national was found floating in the Macal River on Thursday, October 16, in the Cayo District. The deceased was identified as 50-year-old Edward Rupert Rodney Burke.

   An official missing person’s report was issued for Burke on Wednesday, October 15, and the following day, Burke’s body was discovered inside the river near San Ignacio Town.

   His body was pulled out of the river and transported to the National Forensic Science Service morgue, where it will undergo a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of his death.

   The official cause of Burke’s death has not yet been determined, but an investigation is ongoing.

   He was last seen on Friday, October 10.
