CENTRAL FARM, Cayo District, Mon. Nov. 10, 2025

A motorcycle collision on the George Price Highway in Central Farm on Friday, November 7, resulted in one man losing his life and three other persons being injured.

Before the accident occurred, shortly after 9:00 p.m., between Miles 63 and 64, a motorcycle carrying 25-year-old Peter Vasquez and 33-year-old Suceli Bogaert was traveling towards Santa Elena Town when it collided with another motorcycle being driven by 28-year-old Keith Guzman, who was heading in the opposite direction towards Georgeville with a passenger, 29-year-old Antonio Castillo.

Guzman reportedly attempted to overtake a vehicle which was in front of them, which led to the collision with the motorcycle on which Vasquez and Bogaert were traveling.

All four persons were flung off the motorcycles. Vasquez, Bogaert, and Castillo were later taken to the Western Regional Hospital in Belmopan, while Guzman passed away at the scene.

ASP Stacy Smith, Staff Officer at the Belize Police Department, confirmed to reporters that the deceased, Guzman, had been driving the motorcycle which caused the collision. A post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine whether Guzman was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

Smith noted that helmets were found in the surrounding area, but said that they likely weren’t strapped on properly.
