Letter to the Sports Editor

Dear Mr. Editor,

Please allow me ask a few questions regarding the Guyana men’s Cricket Team that is participating in the Regional CG United Super50 2025 Cup in Trinidad. What is surprising is that Mr. Kevin Sinclair, a WI player is not part of that team. Is he too old? Is it for disciplinary reasons?  Is he not that good a player anymore?  In a recently concluded Inter- County tournament, he had some good contributions for Berbice with both bat and ball.  He is also performing at a very high level for his club, Rose Hall town locally. This past summer in NY he did perform very well for his team.

He is still a very young man with plenty of cricket left in him and given his treatment, Guyana will not benefit. I really don’t know who are the selectors and maybe, one of them or the GCB, themselves can shed some light on his omission.

I know he sets himself high expectations and I imagine he would want his teammates to do so as well. Or, maybe he doesn’t fall into one of those cliques within the team.

Hopefully someone will provide answers to the Guyanese cricket public, soon.
