NASSAU, BAHAMAS — Minister of Education Glenys Hanna-Martin responded to comments made by Bahamas Union of Teachers (BUT) President Belinda Wilson, who suggested that education officials should focus more on incorporating technical and vocational studies into the public school curriculum.

Hanna-Martin listed various programs to media that have been implemented where technical and vocational diversity is available to students in the public school sector.

The BUT President noted that statistics have shown students in the public school system lean towards blue-collar jobs, and Hanna-Martin reaffirmed that certifications are available to students who are interested in that direction.
