UPP denies Prime Minister Browne’s ‘underground’ statements, calling him a shameless liar
Political Leader Jamale Pringle and the Leadership of the United Progressive Party (UPP) categorically deny statements made by Prime Minister Gaston Browne, on radio, on Saturday, August 31, and describe him as a shameless liar.
The UPP challenges Browne to produce evidence that any MP or officer of the Party made any statements, at any time, advocating that any gang member or any person, be killed by the Police and put “underground,” as the prime minister claims.

The Party also condemns Browne for the untruthful and irresponsible remarks he ascribes to MP Algernon Watts in his defamatory rant., and will support the representative’s every action to clear his name.
“We remind the public that it was Prime Minister Browne, himself, who recently declared that any attack on the Police would be followed by retaliation and that non-nationals who break the law could be sent home as ‘cargo,’” says MP Pringle. “For him to now accuse the UPP is not simply reverse psychology; it is a naked attempt to make targets of our people.”
Another member of the Leadership describes the prime minister’s gross lies as “a new low, even for the prime minister.”
Meanwhile, the Leadership calls on Police Commissioner Atlee Rodney and all responsible persons to note that Browne’s despicable lies are a clear attempt to manipulate impressionable young people to adopt a hostile position to UPP representatives, and to warn him away from that dangerous course. This matter is not being taken lightly, Pringle says.
