Frito-Lay recalled some Lay’s Classic Potato Chips sold in the U.S. and online because they may contain undeclared milk.
“Those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the recalled product,” the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said in posting the company’s announcement.
The recalled 13-ounce (368.5 gram) bags have a “guaranteed fresh” date of Feb. 11, 2025, and manufacturing codes 6462307xx or 6463307xx.
The products were delivered to stores and e-commerce distributors in Oregon and Washington.
Consumers would have been able to purchase these chips as early as Nov. 3.
No allergic reactions related to the recall have been reported.
The company said it was alerted through a consumer contact.
No other Lay’s products are affected.
If consumers have an allergy or sensitivity to milk, they should not consume the product and discard it immediately, the company said.
