MovieTowne’s haunted house is sure to be an unforgettable adventure. As you enter the haunted house, you will be greeted with displays of horror faces on the walls, and different characters appearing out of thin air. The spooky atmosphere filled by the screams of persons that enters, makes the ones outside more eager to experience what awaits them. With each step, you’ll encounter hauntingly life-like characters, unexpected scares, and mind-bending illusions designed to keep you guessing at every corner. With immersive scare zones, interactive elements, and unexpected twists, the Haunted House promises an unforgettable experience for everyone who dares to enter. Whether you’re a die-hard horror fan or just looking for a thrilling experience. Some of the scary characters that were displayed at the Haunted House Visitors to the haunted house must prepare to entangle their senses in an immersive experience filled with spine-chilling surprises, realistic portrayal of horror movie characters, and heart-pounding scares. Organisers of the haunted house said that the plaza will be open to welcome thrill seekers for the entire month of October, where every week new characters from various horror films would be portrayed.  On Friday, Movietown unveiled some of the haunted characters which included Pennywise, characters from Scream, The Ring, Joker, and The Killing Clown. During the launch, The Waterfalls spoke to a few adventure seekers, who expressed their experience of the haunted house. Diana Browne said, “I am not really a person that enjoys doing these kinds of things but it was a good experience, one I would go for again….the persons that played the horror character looked very realistic.” Additionally while speaking to a group of friends, Ryan (only name given) said, “This is my first time, and it was scary, I frighten to go in again, them thing just popping up out of nowhere.” Another friend, Ronaldo said, “They had this clown that was high up, I think he was sitting on a piece of wood or something… when he jumped down, I swear, I could have get a  heart attack… The clown was the scariest and this scary face on the wall when you enter.”  He further expressed with enthusiasm, “Plus they had this face thing that lit up, it looked like a real face.” “This was exciting, and scary, my favorite horror is, IT (A clown horror film)…so going in there and seeing the various clowns was like a real life experience.” She added, “They also had a child scary person, she scared me too, because I didn’t expect that at all.” Related Similar Articles

NSC confirms 140-member contingent Oct 06, 2024 Sports Inter-Guiana Games 2025… Kaieteur Sports – The National Sports Commission (NCS), following an extensive and consultative process, has finalised a 140-member contingent that will participate in the 2025 edition of the Inter-Guiana Games (IGG), which is slated for Cayenne, French Guiana, from October 24th-26th. The selection process for the annual event, which lasted for several weeks and was aided by the IGG Management Committee, was staged in collaboration with stakeholders. The final roster, which will make the trek to the French department, comprises athletes, officials, and auxiliary personnel. Presently, the list has been submitted to the French authorities for the acquisition of visas and any other relevant or requisite travel documents. The IGG Management Committee contains Chef-de-Mission Dr Karen Pilgrim and veteran sports administrator Gervy Harry, Vice Chairperson of the NSC Cristy Campbell Assistant Directors of Sport  Melissa Dow-Richardson and Frankie Wilson among other individuals. The entity meets twice a week to finalise the logistical arrangements for the team. They will meet on an increased basis as the date for the team’s departure draws closer. The seven disciplines that will be contested are: athletics, basketball, beach volleyball, chess, futsal, swimming, and table tennis. Owing to the distance that must be travelled, Guyana is slated to arrive in the French territory on the 22nd, while their return date is pencilled for the 27th. Suriname is slated to arrive on the 23rd. Meanwhile, Director of Sport Steve Ninvalle said, “Given the cultural importance of the tournament, an extensive process was conducted and aided by the IGG Management Committee in conjunction with the local associations to select the best possible and available athletes and personnel for this prestigious regional championship. This annual undertaking is a covenant amongst culturally and historically linked people and community and will continue to survive the test of time given our shared values and, more importantly, our ambition to forge closer and deeper bonds.” He further said, “Guyana is expected to host the 2025 edition, and given its unquestionable importance, a world-class experience will certainly be realised owing to the ongoing development and refurbishment of faculties and venues by the Government of Guyana as it strives to usher in a sporting cultural revolution. That is the vision of His Excellency President Dr. Irfaan Ali, whose commitment to achieving this objective is evident by the annual increasing largesse, which is of historic proportions, that is afforded to the sector.” Originally held in 1967, the IGG is traditionally an annual competition among the territories of Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana. GFF thanks West Ham United FC for hosting goalkeeper coach Eon Deveira Oct 06, 2024 Sports Kaieteur Sports – The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) extends its heartfelt thanks to West Ham United Football Club for warmly accommodating Eon Deveira, one of Guyana’s most qualified goalkeeper coaches, during his recent visit to the club’s training camp in England. Head of Academy, Kenny Browne, and Eon Deveira Deveira spent two highly productive days at West Ham, gaining invaluable insights into both the Academy and first-team facilities. His visit started with a courtesy call and warm welcome by the Head of Academy Mr. Kenny Brown. Deveira had the pleasure of viewing goalkeeping sessions in U9, U16, U18, U21 areas hosted by various goalkeeper coaches, respectively Larry Raji, Chris Lewington, Dan Hill and Coach Billy Lepine. This allowed him to indulged in discussions with the coaches before the sessions and also gained valuable feedback after. He also met separately with U21 Head Coach Mr. Mark Robson and was given the opportunity to view their game analysis session. Furthermore, Deveira also met with a West Ham legend Mr. Steven Potts who has 399 league appearances and is now the U23 head coach. Reflecting on his experience, Deveira shared, “The experience was very inspiring and enlightening. It placed me in a different space mentally, and I am eager to transfer this knowledge into my training. This will be a tremendous benefit to the youths, the Federation’s programmes, and Guyana as a whole.” The GFF recognizes the importance of such international exchanges in enhancing local football development and greatly appreciates West Ham United’s openness to fostering this relationship. The Federation is eager to explore further collaboration as it continues to elevate the standard of football coaching in Guyana. Back-to-back, or first time winners? Oct 06, 2024 Sports – Warriors, Kings set for intense battle in CPL finals Can the Warriors go back-to-back? Kaieteur Sports – Two teams. One hunting for their first taste of glory, the other determined to prove their first trophy was no fluke. That’s the narrative of tonight’s highly anticipated Caribbean Premier League (CPL) final at the Guyana National Stadium, where defending champions, the Guyana Amazon Warriors, will face off against the St. Lucia Kings, who are making their third appearance in a CPL final. Battle of the South Africans! Imaran Tahir (L) and Faf du Plessis will face-off in tonight’s final. The scene is set for a thrilling finale, one where emotions will run high, and every ball will carry the weight of a season’s worth of effort. Both teams have powerful line-ups, but only one can walk away with the coveted CPL trophy. The Amazon Warriors, one of the most storied franchises in CPL history, finally broke their title drought in 2023 after 11 seasons and six finals. For their captain, 45-year-old Imran Tahir, that victory still feels dreamlike. “It took a lot out of us, but we’d do it all over again,” Tahir reflects, underscoring the hunger to repeat that success in front of their home crowd. But the St. Lucia Kings, led by the ever-dangerous Faf du Plessis, have other plans. The Kings have reached their third final, but the trophy has so far eluded them. With du Plessis in scorching form this season, racking up 384 runs, the Kings are aiming to spoil the Warriors’ celebrations. Their head coach, Darren Sammy, has kept things clear and focused. “Winning those games earlier in the season was great,” Sammy said, referencing the Kings’ two victories over the Warriors, “but they don’t matter now. Sunday is all that counts.” The atmosphere at the Guyana National Stadium is set to be electric, with over 20,000 loyal Warriors fans expected to pack the stands. Sammy knows the challenge his team faces, but remains confident. “the Kings are ready to take on the Guyana Amazon Warriors; a team that is not ready to let go of their title, so it’s going to be a tough battle and one that the Kings are ready for.” On the other side, Warriors’ coach, Lance Klusener, is just as adamant that his team is prepared to defend their crown. “It won’t be easy,” the 53-year-old cricket legend admits, “but we’re ready to meet the challenge head-on. The boys are locked in.” Despite their two losses to St. Lucia this season, Klusener remains unfazed, knowing that each game is played under different conditions. “It’s a final. Anything can happen, but we’ll be ready.” For the Warriors, much of their success has rested on a well-rounded squad. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Shai Hope have led from the top, with Shimron Hetmyer providing crucial runs in the middle order. The late addition of Moeen Ali has only added to their depth, with the English all-rounder forming a dangerous opening partnership with Gurbaz. Keemo Paul, Romario Shepherd, and Dwayne Pretorius provide the firepower in the lower order, ready to explode when needed. Imran Tahir himself has been exceptional with the ball, managing his attack with finesse. He’ll lean on fellow spinners Gudakesh Motie and Ali to keep the Kings’ powerful batting line-up in check, while the pace trio of Pretorius, Shepherd, and possibly Shamar Joseph—who has been in and out of the side—rounds out a formidable bowling unit. For the Kings, du Plessis has been the bedrock of their batting, but the team will need a full-team effort to dethrone the champions. His opening partner, Johnson Charles, must fire at the top, while the likes of Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Roston Chase, Tim Seifert, and Ackeem Auguste will be crucial in building or chasing a total. David Wiese’s versatility adds a wildcard factor to the Kings’ middle order. With the ball, St. Lucia will look to Noor Ahmad, their leading wicket-taker, to continue his fine form. Oct 06, 2024 Letters Dear Editor, Several weeks ago, former Minister of Finance, Mr. Winston Jordan shared his opinion on “wastage spending in Government,” when he appeared as a guest on program, “Guyana Morning Time,” hosted by Mr. Kidackie Amsterdam. Oh, President Irfaan Ali, Dr. Ashni Singh and Big boss Jagdeo ran out condemning Mr. Jordan. Personally, I endorsed the views expressed by Mr. Jordan. I will highlight via images how TAXPAYERS monies are being WASTED, when the very funds could have been used to improve key Sectors, such as Education, Health and Social Welfare and pay better wages and salaries to our hardworking public servants and teachers. The struggles that many Guyanese are faced with daily are indeed real. But the PPPC government is bent on expending the nation’s oil resources on ‘infrastructure development, rather than Human Resources.’ The modus operandi of the PPPC is to keep our people behind, while 5% of their cronies continue to enjoy from the nation’s patrimony. Since assuming government, there is NOT one single ordinary Guyanese who can boldly say that their living conditions has changed, due to injection by government where salaries and other benefits would have changed their lives exponentially from August 2, 2020 to current. However, the contrast will always be that our lives were better under the Coalition Government without oil resources and prudent spending as against a PPPC government with oil resources and wasteful spending, and living conditions have become challenging. The railway embankment from High Street to Lamaha Street and beyond is nostalgic to the older generations. I remember my mom sharing with my siblings and her days of using the train. I was told that the train station was once located at High and Parade Streets, Kingston, which still has some superstructure standing. Since the abolition of the train services, the area was being utilized by the Ministry of Public Works for the ‘Force Account Unit’, now referred to as “Special Project Unit” and other activities, such as the workshop. The Ministry of Public Works expended millions in this area in 2022, claiming ‘transformation.’ It has been approximately two years and the area looks underutilized, with a few security personnel from Sheriff Security providing daily services. Editor, this is not the only area where huge sums of taxpayers’ dollars were used to do Infrastructural development. Just take a walk few yards from the old train station area, from High Street, Kingston to Irving Street, Queenstown. A portion of the area from Parade Street to East Street is being utilized for parking by staffers of GRA and GPHC, with the general public doing so also when conducting businesses in the areas, or drivers used the stretch as an alternate driveway parallel to Lamaha Street. Therefore, the questions many Guyanese are asking, was this necessary? Why hasn’t the Government channeled the excessive spending towards salaries and better the lives of its citizens? Why didn’t the government do this in the twenty-three (23) years? This is a clear case of government finding ways to pumped taxpayers monies into the pockets of friends, families, favourites and flatterers of the PPPC. Editor, it is only fair to any right thinking Guyanese to fully support the views elucidated by Former Minister Jordan regarding the wastage spending of monies, under the pretext of “infrastructural development.” On Friday October 4, 2024, as I drove past the area where the old train station was, I was perplexed not seeing any gainful activity on the recently renovated area, from High Street to Parade Street, Kingston. It will be helpful for Hon. Bishop Juan Edghill, Minister of Public Works to provide the nation and taxpayers of Guyana explanation on the following questions: What is the intended purpose for the area, since it has been renovated? Will there be a committee to manage the use of this facility? If yes to two above, can the Minister state whether the committee will comprised of officers from the Ministry of Public Works or it will be privately manned? If so, by whom? What was the final project cost Who was the Contractor? Has the full scope of work for the project completed? If not, what are the remaining components to be completed? What is the deadline for project completion? Editor, I am sharing with you images taken of the current state of the project, between High and Parade Streets, Kingston, Greater Georgetown. I will conclude by joining my voice in support of the views expressed by Mr. Jordan and appeal to Mr. Irfaan Ali to cease the wastage spending on infrastructural development and pay attention by revising Government programs to aid in the development of the citizens of Guyana. It is time the cheap rhetoric of “government programs are helping Guyanese; Guyanese have their own home and car…” While this may be so, it is the people who make the ultimate sacrifices of giving up one for another, in real economic terms, “opportunity costs.” It is NOT the government doing this for them. It is TIME Guyanese feel the positive impact and effects from the oil resources. I pray the day when righteous leaders with a heart of love and compassion will take up their rightful place in governance and rule justly and love mercifully, as required in scripture.
