Kenneth ‘Big Tom’ Flowers, deceased

By Charles Gladden

BELIZE CITY, Mon. Oct. 6, 2025

It has been confirmed that Belize’s most notorious underworld figure, Kenneth Flowers, also known as “Big Tom,” was executed in the late evening of Monday, October 6, in the Backatown area of Belize City.

The shots rang out after 5:00 p.m., as Flowers was inside a Chevy Equinox when a gunman rode beside him and blasted multiple gunshots at him, causing his vehicle to crash behind a parked pickup truck on Sittee Street, severely injuring him.

He was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where he was treated but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

While an official comment has yet to be released by the police department, unconfirmed reports suggest that Flowers’ death stems from a love triangle that he was allegedly involved in.

Throughout the years, Flowers had earned a reputation in the streets as the infamous boss of the Backatown gang, and had escaped numerous attempts on his life. However, of late, Flowers had turned over a new leaf and put the street life behind him. He also condemned the senseless murders that have been occurring in the city, and had shared a message of positivity on a recent social media post.

There is yet no indication as to whether the authorities have detained the triggerman.
