Young Entrepreneur, Aryanna Hassan
This is something 20-year-old Aryanna Hassan did back in 2024 when an unfortunate incident occurred in her life which led to her losing her job as a payroll clerk. Not knowing what the outcome might be, Hassan made a bold decision on September 23, 2024 in launching her own beauty and make-up business called ‘Blink Beauty by Ary’.
Asked where it all began, Hassan in an exclusive interview with this publication recalled that the idea of starting her business was following an accident involving her mother and then losing her job.
Always wanting to be her own boss, the young woman said, “I decided how can I assist her at home and work at the same time, the only thing that came to my mind was being a lash technician. As someone who loves getting their eye lash extensions done, and with so many compliments, I said why not start from there.”
Being a self-taught lash technician, Hassan shared that she decided to put her skills to test from the comfort of their home. Proud of making this decision, Hassan recollected that just after an entire month of providing services, the business pretty much kicked off from there with the tremendous support she has been receiving.
For those wondering, ‘Blink Beauty by Ary’ provides not only lash extension services but also Hassan specializes in hair care treatments, pedicure, facial, waxing and is a certified makeup artist.
Having been attending to clients and providing services for almost a year now, the young beautician said that the support and feedback has led to her opening her own little lash studio which is located at Hope, East Coast Demerara.
Describing her business journey thus far, Hassan shared that part of growing her business there will also be some challenges along the way. In her case, she recalled that some days she would not have clients and she would be so worried if it’s going to be like this all the time.
The young woman said she later proceeded to create social media platforms for her business in a bid of reaching to the wider public. She said this has truly been beneficial since her clientele have been growing.

Looking to continue providing these services in the long-run, Hassan said she intends to add more beauty services to the list.

“Well how I boosted my small business, I created a social media platform on all socials, I did continuous promotion, I create high quality content for my platforms, I offer discounts with more than one service and I usually re-contact my clients with check up on my services provided. I think these tips can be done to boost small businesses locally,” she suggested.
