BELIZE CITY, Mon. Nov. 24, 2025

A 22-year-old man was executed in the early hours of Saturday, November 22, in the Antelope Street Extension area.

Shortly after midnight, the victim, Daniel Tillett, a call center agent, was riding his motorcycle from the direction of Marlene Leslie Street, towards Hilda Foreman Street when he was ambushed by three gunmen who exited a yard in Antelope Street Extension and fired multiple gunshots at him.

Tillett fell onto the ground after the shots were fired, and died at the scene. The three men then fled the scene on foot in the direction of Ruben Morales Street in that area.

ASP Stacy Smith, Staff Officer for the Belize Police Department, confirmed to the media that the entire execution was captured via surveillance camera and is being reviewed by the department.

Notably, Tillett was the prime suspect for the 2021 murder of 23-year-old Derron Hernandez, who was killed at the end of the Christmas weekend shortly after returning to his Raccoon Street home.

No motive for the shooting has been established yet, said ASP Smith, but Smith noted that Tillett had been affiliated with the Jerusalem Bone Yard Crips gang, and had previously been remanded to prison.
