Kaieteur News-  Experts from the 20th China Medical Team for Guyana delivered free healthcare to residents of Victory Valley, Linden, on Saturday.

Despite days of persistent rain, “the enthusiasm of the community residents seeking medical care was undiminished,” the medical team said in a press release. Many of the residents clutching their medical records and examination reports, eagerly consulted the doctors on a wide range of health issues. The specialists from the fields of surgery, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, and traditional Chinese medicine, leveraging their extensive clinical expertise, offered them professional diagnosis and treatment advice.

According to the release, during the course of the medical outreach, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr. Hugh Todd, made a special appearance at the site. “After personally experiencing the magical acupuncture therapy, Minister Todd could not help but heap praises on this traditional Chinese medical practice,” the release stated. “These Chinese doctors have brought world-class medical expertise,” remarked Minister Todd, according to the release.

“The China Medical Team for Guyana has been consistently committed to serving the local population for a long time. We have ventured deep into remote areas such as mountainous regions and rainforests. Through a series of medical services, we have injected fresh vitality into the cooperation between Guyana and China. Moreover, our efforts are set to become yet another shining example of successful medical collaboration between the two countries,” the release added.
