Construction worker accused of grievous bodily harm gets $250k bail

Kaieteur News- A 29-year-old construction worker was placed on $250,000 bail on Wednesday when he appeared at the Sparendaam Magistrates’ Court to answer to a grievous bodily harm charge.

The accused, Ravindranauth Parbhu, of Lot 378 Success, Railway Embankment, East Coast Demerara (ECD), pleaded not guilty to the charge after it was read to him by Magistrate Abigail Gibbs.
Parbhu was arrested on March 29, 2025 for harming a 42-year-old construction worker of Success Squatting Area on March 10, 2025 at Success Railway Embankment.
Magistrate Gibbs granted the accused bail on the condition that he reports to the Beterverwagting Police Station on the first Monday of every month.
The matter was adjourned to May 21, 2025.
