Hard Truths by GHK Lall…

(Kaieteur News) – On this day of light, darkness has overtaken and overwhelmed Guyana.  Deep, dense darkness devours the hearts of some, too many.  Pick one, the flock is plenty.  Darkness surrounds and infests the houses of state; the higher the office the thicker the darkness.

The forces of evil that dominate in Guyana, do their damnedest to snuff out any flicker of light that dares to signal its presence.  PPP, PNC, it doesn’t matter; go high, go low, and it is the same sickness: it is the same dark, pitiful, savage heart of Guyana that is on full exhibition all the time.  On this Diwali Day, let all remember-from believer to outsider to observer-that light always pierces through darkness, and this is regardless how widespread it is.  There is an incandescence in light that no number of dark spirits can ever challenge, conquer.  So, they hide and hurl poisoned arrows, strike with concealed daggers.  And they call themselves statesmen.  Statesmen, or bondsmen to the devil?  Bondsmen to all that is wrong about Guyana, and where it is driven today.

They have misled and mangled the minds of the Guyanese people for so long, and so easily, that they believe that they can do the same to all men, and get away with their malignancies.  I say they are wrong.  They are confident that they have everything going for them, all the resources of the state, all the power of it, so that they will prosper despite their distortions, they will continue to have their evil ways notwithstanding their disfigured sinews, their monstrous essences.  I stand before these evildoers and throw down the gauntlet before their faces.  Do thy best.  Try whatever works best.  And the result will be the same: identification of the schemers, the falsifiers, the manipulators, the sorry cast of characters that blight this land.  One stands out in the superior length and depth of chronic sicknesses.  There are others, the flunkeys and lackeys, and sickos and psychos, who will readily do any vile, dirty deed for a dirty dollar.  I light a candle for them all, say a prayer, too.  Not for smiting to come down on their heads.  But that some little light will shine on them, soothe their tormented souls.

When one man, one nobody citizen, can cause so much anxiety in so many, then he must possess something that they all fear and hate with a passion.  The fact that so many of them have to assemble, join their minds, and link their arms, to squeeze one man out of the public space confirms how much of what is right is missing in them taken individually, or when counted collectively.  I pray that they will find peace.  That the truth tortures them less and less, and then not at all.  It would be a great day for Guyana and Guyanese.  Then the light of Diwali can be every day.

What example do these twisted deceivers set for those now coming up, and the youthful ones already within their sphere of influence, those beholden to them?  Guyana is a country of untold amounts of oil, and there is this sticky, sickly, oiliness that oozes out of the pores and breath of those who call themselves leaders, who are looked upon as models.  It is better to be dead, than to be led by those who are constituted that way.  No man is an island.  No man is infallible.  But no man, not one, should make such a fool of himself.  With what objective in mind?  Seeking to strangle light will always be a failed venture.  For even when there are high-fives and celebrations in the nervous belief that a human pestilence finally has been gotten rid of, it is then that their real terrorising and haunting begin.  There will be no rest for these evildoers who hold themselves out as leaders for the good of the people.  I congratulate them on leading the gullible and vulnerable to walk right into their traps.

This is where Diwali 2025 finds Guyana.  The darkness hangs like a shroud over the existence of country and citizens.  For those whose hearts are purified by divine light, with deeds to match, I petition for the clean, unfiltered light of above to shine through.  As for those who have made darkness their spirit, may that foul wind pass by in time, and may better men and women be the result.  May the blessed light of Diwali descend and remain on all.  Not one Guyanese excluded.  Not one foreigner or stranger be left outside of that glorious light.  Amen.  Om.
