State Media: Former Government Minister Ambassador Dean Jonas is taking legal action over his arrest last February.
He has filed a suit against Police Commissioner Atlee Rodney, Corporal Jason Joseph and Attorney General Sir Steadroy Benjamin.
Corporal Joseph was among officers who arrested Jonas at his Scott’s Hill Home on February 23, 2023, in an incident which went viral on social media.

Amb. Jonas claims the police displayed “clear bias” in arresting him at his home and says the arrest and charges were “motivated by spite and lacked lawful justification.”
The case against the former St George Member of Parliament was dismissed earlier this year. He is seeking general, aggravated, exemplary and punitive damages, among other relief.
Amb. Jonas is being represented by attorney Wendel Alexander.
