Education Ministry to spend over $147M for electrical works at several schools

Kaieteur News- The Ministry of Education will soon spend over $147 million to execute electrical rehabilitation at several primary and secondary schools in Region Four.
This is according to the bids that were opened for the projects at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB) office. According to NPTAB information, the ministry will be carrying out electrical works at North Georgetown Primary School for $32,366,250, Tutorial High School for $38,631,600, South Ruimveldt Secondary School for $28,245,000, Carmel Secondary School for $25,605,300, and at Enterprise Primary School for $22,781,850.
This newspaper understands that these projects among others will form part of the $36.2 billion that was set aside in this year’s budget to construct and rehabilitate education facilities across the country.
