BELIZE CITY, Fri. Aug. 15, 2025

Ryan Foster, 34, a laborer of Stann Creek District, has been charged in connection with the death of two men, 55-year-old Quintin Espinoza and 70-year-old Roland Burley, which occurred in 2020.

In May 2020, Espinoza’s and Burley’s bodies were found on a farm on the Hopkins Road, not far from its junction with the Southern Highway. There was a single gunshot wound in Espinoza’s forehead and multiple chop wounds on his body, and there was a gunshot wound in the right side of Burley’s head and chop wounds in his torso, back, and legs.

It was later discovered that Burley’s house, which was located on the farm, had been burglarized, and a number of his belongings had been stolen.

Reports at the time indicated that their deaths were likely the result of a land dispute with another person, which had led to their lives being threatened. Police believe they finally have identified the person who killed the men after a 5-year investigation, and that person is believed to be Foster.

He was charged with two counts of murder.
