Dear Editor,    

I refer to a Kaieteur News article in which Guyanese were informed of the approval by the Government of Guyana of the seventh oil extraction operation by ExxonMobil Guyana Limited https://kaieteurnewsonline.com/2025/09/23/govt-approves-exxons-hammerhead-project/).

One of the depressing elements of this information is the picture showing the executives of EMGL and the Minister of Natural Resources all satisfied with their achievement; while the Guyana flag is dragging on the floor, with shoes almost trampling the green in the flag.

See the picture below:

Mister Minister, please end the contempt and disrespect displayed for our National Flag, an important symbol of our Nation. You must do better, Mister Minister.
