Kaieteur Sports- The stage is set for a thrilling conclusion to the Rock Futsal Championship this Saturday evening at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, as defending champions Back Circle prepare to battle Gold is Money in the highly anticipated final.

At a pre-match press conference held at Fireside Grill on Garnett Street, both team captains expressed confidence in their ability to claim the prestigious title.
Selwyn Williams, captain of Back Circle, emphasized his team’s determination to retain the championship. Acknowledging the strength of their opponents, he noted that while Gold is Money poses a formidable challenge, Back Circle has triumphed over them in previous encounters, albeit not in a final. Williams also took the opportunity to commend the organizers for successfully hosting the tournament.
Back Circle secured their spot in the final after a tense semifinal victory over North East La Penitence, prevailing in a penalty shootout.
Meanwhile, Gold is Money captain Jaffar Ali expressed optimism about his team’s chances, despite their lack of recent appearances in major finals. He anticipates a competitive showdown and emphasized that his squad will not approach the match with overconfidence.
Gold is Money booked their place in the championship match with a narrow 1-0 semifinal win over Festival City.
The stakes are high, with the tournament champions set to claim $1,000,000 along with the championship trophy, while the runners-up will receive $500,000 and a trophy.
Prior to the final, Festival City and North East La Penitence will clash in the third-place playoff, with both teams eager to finish on a high note.
A representative from Festival City praised the quality of the tournament, highlighting its smooth execution and competitive nature. On the other hand, North East La Penitence captain Akil Plass acknowledged that every team enters with the intent to win, but emphasized that the game is decided on the night. He assured that his squad will be well-prepared to seize victory.
The third-place winner will walk away with $300,000 and a trophy, while the losing side will receive $200,000 and a trophy.
