BELIZE CITY, Tues. Oct. 14, 2025

An argument between former lovers led to the fatal shooting of a woman by her ex-boyfriend, who then turned the gun on himself and ended his life on Saturday, October 11.

The former couple, 26-year-old Keira Gentle of Simon Lamb Street and 27-year-old Harrison Arnold of Pike Crescent, were reportedly engaged in a heated argument at Gentle’s residence, located in an apartment complex on Simon Lamb Street in Belize City, shortly before noon, when suddenly three gunshots were reportedly heard coming from a bedroom at the residence, then a single gunshot a few seconds later.

Arnold reportedly had used his licensed 9-millimeter firearm to shoot Gentle three times before he used the same gun to kill himself.

When the police arrived at the scene, Arnold’s and Gentle’s bodies were seen on the floor along with Arnold’s firearm.

It was confirmed that they had been in a romantic relationship for some time; however, they were reportedly separated at the time of the tragic shooting. There is no indication whether there had been physical violence in the relationship prior to the murder and suicide, said ASP Stacy Smith, Staff Officer at the Belize Police Department.
