Tonight, 70-year-old Henry Hulse was returned to the Belize Central Prison, where he previously was on remand and will now be awaiting sentencing after being found guilty of rape of an 11-year-old boy.
This afternoon at around 2:00 o’clock, Hulse was found guilty before Justice Nigel Pilgrim in the High Court. His trial for rape of a child had begun on Monday, July 7, 2025, in a trial by judge alone.
Hulse was represented by attorney Norman Moore, while the Crown was represented by Crown Counsel, Shanell Fernandez of the Director of Public Prosecution’s office.
The victim, who was 11-years old at the time, testified “in camera” at the start of the trial.
The boy told the court that Hulse invited him into the abandoned bus where he was staying and forced his private parts into his mouth.
The little boy’s brother was looking for him, found him in the bus with Hulse, and saw what took place.
The incident occurred on June 10, 2024.
Sentencing is set for December 5, 2025.
