Miner jailed for assaulting and threatening PNCR’s Region 2 Chair

Kaieteur News- A 56-year-old miner on Wednesday sentenced to one-month imprisonment and fined $20,000 for assaulting and threatening Chairman of the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR), Prince Holder.
The accused, Otis Baird of Richmond, Essequibo Coast, appeared before Magistrate Tameika Clarke at the Suddie Magistrates’ Court. He reportedly committed the act on January 13, 2025 at Richmond, Essequibo Coast.
Baird was found guilty of both charges. He was sentenced to one month in jail for the assault charge and fined $20,000 (or one-month imprisonment if he fails to pay the fine) for the threatening language charge.
