Most recently, Chalwell served as Director of Marketing at the British Virgin Islands Ports Authority (BVIPA). In this role, she established and led the authority’s marketing department, spearheading a transformative rebranding initiative that significantly boosted visibility and stakeholder engagement. Her efforts were instrumental in the record-breaking recovery of the BVI’s cruise industry post-COVID, with cruise arrivals reaching new heights in 2023.

Chalwell previously held a key role with the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board, where she directed multiple high-impact international marketing campaigns, effectively enhancing the BVI’s standing as a premier Caribbean destination. Her success in building strong, strategic partnerships has been vital to the Territory’s tourism growth, positioning the BVI as a must-visit location on the global stage.

In her role as Deputy Director of Tourism, Chalwell will assist the Director in developing, implementing, and overseeing a broad range of tourism marketing strategies. This includes managing the creation of the Board’s annual Marketing Plan, fostering partnerships within the regional and international tourism industries, and supporting the Board’s operational goals.

Chalwell holds a B.Sc. in International Tourism Management with a concentration in Marketing and Public Relations, and an Associate’s degree in Hotel & Resort Management. Her academic and professional background, complemented by her in-depth experience in the BVI’s hospitality and yachting sectors, equips her with the vision and leadership to guide the Territory’s tourism strategy.

British Virgin Islands Director of Tourism, Clive McCoy, commented, “We are thrilled to welcome Natasha back to the Board. Her wealth of experience and extensive industry knowledge will be invaluable as we work together to shape the future of BVI tourism.”
