Search on for Brazilian following discovery of illegal shotgun

Kaieteur News- The Guyana Police Force is in search of a 54-year-old Brazilian national, after ranks found a black 20-guage single barrel shot gun and 20-guage cartridge shells at his residence in Bush Mouth Road, Achawib Village, South Rupununi.
Police reported that at about 16:00h on Wednesday, ranks, acting on information visited the home of Fernando DaSilva.
Upon arriving at the residence, the police called out but received no response. The door was found slightly ajar, which prompted officers to enter and conduct a search. Inside, they discovered the shotgun which was propped up against a wall. The gun was without a serial number. Further checks in the house led to the discovery of four 20-gauge shotgun shells.
“The police took possession of the said firearm and empty cartridges and took them to Aishalton Police Station where they were marked, sealed and lodged in the general property book, then placed in the property room for safe keeping,” police said.
Efforts were made to locate the suspect in the surrounding area, but he was not found. Additional searches will be conducted at Marudi Backdam in an attempt to locate DaSilva.
