Taking swift and proactive measures now is essential

Kaieteur News – Operating as a public communication analyst has placed me in a unique position to listen to the concerns of my fellow citizens.
One issue that is currently on everyone’s mind is the re-emergence of COVID-19, which has left the public wondering about safety and health measures moving forward. Many businesses and organisations are now working to implement safety protocols to protect their staff and visitors, while public health centers and hospitals remain on high alert to help keep the wider community safe.
However, in my view, some of the public health interventions that were used during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic should have remained in place to some extent. This would have better prepared citizens for the current situation and may have helped to keep more individuals safe. Additionally, I strongly urge all food handlers and transportation providers to diligently implement all necessary safety measures to protect public health during this time.
None of us wants to experience a repeat of the economic stagnation at the national level that resulted from the last COVID-19 pandemic outbreak. Taking swift and proactive measures now is essential to safeguarding both public health and the economy of our country.
