NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Bahamas Union of Teachers and Teachers & Salaried Workers Co-Operative Credit Union have signed an agreement to assist union members with financing empowerment.

Twenty million dollars have been earmarked for this agreement; the credit union will assist members of the BUT with financing for properties, mortgages, education assistance and much more, according to union officials.

BUT President Belinda Wilson called it a ‘historic’ moment for union members across The Bahamas who she said will now be able to benefit from the agreement, whether they are attempting to buy a house or further their educational studies.

On Saturday, October 5th, the BUT will also be hosting a mortgage clinic to assist their members interested in purchasing a home.
