As we continue our journey to freedom, four hundred years plus, we have endured the inhumanity and genocide of the Mid-Atlantic slave trade; in slavery, the demonic horrors of white dominance, robbing us of our culture, our language, our spirit, creating a confusion of blood! We have endured, and become, as the biblical quote established, a new people of the isles!

The remnant of colonialism lives in the administrative culture, and the governance of our islands remains discriminatory, even as was with the overlords of British colonial days.
The contempt for black people by those who control the strings of the economy is still the same in those who have replaced them, with only a change in the color of their skin. This contempt is based on color which has been the external power base, to keep a slavish mentality of our people in place, all for the continuity of trade control.
Britain had too much invested in the Caribbean to allow its ex-slaves to define their own freedoms, hence a Constitution which continued allegiance to the British Royal family, heirs and successors.
Forty-three years is no comparison when considering the past 400+ years of dependence and inhumanity, by those to whom we still swear allegiance. And the purchase of our lands by VC Bird, is now being given back to the descendants of the slavers at peppercorn rates with ‘forever packages of concessions’ giving them a tax free business life.
Meanwhile, back on the plantation the people are taxed to their death for the repair of the roads, collection of garbage, utilities generation through poles (which the storms destroy). People are worked to death in the homes of the new elites and the hotels, from 6.am, while their children are let loose to follow criminal behaviour; our demoralized men, unaccustomed to having family on the plantation, now unable to satisfy the needs of family, abandon newly attained family.
We are the survivors of the world’s worst manifestation of the culture of genocide and evil of European society. History shows that humans have traded in humans, but human life has been respected as such, even though enduring forced Labour and vile treatment, until the British in particular sought to wash their hands of the evil by whitewashing God & Jesus, and using the Bible as a physiological weapon to reduce the humanity of black skinned peoples.
