BELIZE CITY, Mon. Oct. 6, 2025

A chilling discovery was made on Saturday, October 4, as the body of a deceased woman was reportedly stuffed inside a blue garbage drum at the corner of Amandala Drive and Cemetery Road, in the early hours of the day.

Nearby surveillance cameras captured the moment when an unknown man, with a white shirt covering his head to conceal his identity, wheeled the drum coming from the direction of La Popular Bakery, to the said location after 6:30 a.m. and then left the area. The drum contained the lifeless body of 42-year-old Shaniele Faber, a resident of Douglas Jones Street and a school warden of Maud Williams High School; and it was not until later in the day, when a random pedestrian began looting the container while searching for pint bottles around 4:00 p.m., that authorities were called to the scene, where they discovered Faber’s lifeless body.

Earlier today, ASP Stacy Smith, Staff Officer at the Belize Police Department, confirmed that police had detained the individual believed to have disposed of the container at the location described above, but no charges had yet been levied.

“It is the police’s duty whenever anybody is detained, and they want to make any statements in relation to their defense or anything of that sort, that they are allowed to do so. That is what I believe is happening at the moment, and thereafter a decision will be made as to what charges are to be brought under the circumstances … Within 48 hours, he must be charged; that 48-hour period is winding down, so I anticipate it will be before that concludes,” she said.

While ASP Smith declined to disclose the deceased’s injuries, due to the sensitivity of the investigation, unconfirmed reports suggest that both Faber’s hands had been severed. The body had tattoos on the face and neck, was clothed in red shorts and a black top, and was already in a partial state of decomposition.

“It’s a very sensitive situation. It’s a female whose life was certainly cut short, and not only cut short, but the circumstances of the discovery are certainly ones that I believe are affecting every right-thinking person, and especially members of the family. So, it’s the department’s position to not disclose, not continue to traumatize those persons who have been involved,” ASP Smith noted.

Forensic investigation is ongoing to determine how long Faber had been killed before her body was placed at the location.

Goldburne Glenford Adolphus, charged

As of print time this evening, reports are that the suspect, 55-year-old Goldburne Adolphus, also known as “Easy Glenn”, a security guard, has been charged with murder.
