Yarrowkabra smashes four in Tutorial, as Dolphin, Waramuri Sec’ remain unbeaten

Kaieteur Sports- The Petra Organisation Milo/Massy Boy’s Under-18 Football Championship is set to conclude its third-round stage today, marking the end of preliminary rounds of the 11th annual Secondary Schools tournament. The final round three matches will take place at the Ministry of Education (MoE) and Queen’s College (QC) grounds, with five games scheduled across the two venues.
Another disappointing day at the office for Brickdam Secondary, falling 4-0 to New Central in their Round III encounter.
Yesterday’s round three matches set up an exciting finish to the group stage.
At QC ground, West Ruimveldt Secondary, which has been in fine form over the past three weeks, was held to a 1-1 draw against Essequibo’s Abram Zuil Secondary. West Ruimveldt’s Donavon Welcome opened the scoring in the 5th minute, but their opponents responded 54 minutes later when Omar Kendall found the equalizer. Despite the draw, West Ruimveldt heads into the next stage at the top of Group ‘C’.
In match #30, New Central High edged past Brickdam Secondary with a 2-1 victory. Brickdam continued their disappointing run, struggling to match their opponents. Trevor Gordon struck first for New Central in the 19th minute, followed by Caedon Whyte’s goal in the 56th. Brickdam’s Xavier Lawrence managed a consolation goal in stoppage time, but it wasn’t enough to prevent another loss.
Meanwhile, over at MoE ground, Group ‘D’ leaders Dolphin Secondary maintained their unbeaten record with a dominant 4-0 win over President’s College. Jamal Williams added another goal to his tally, while Collin Frank David, Kevin Bunton, and Brian Brower also found the net.
Waramuri Secondary continued their impressive run in the 2025 tournament, thrashing New Amsterdam Secondary 5-1. After a competitive opening 15 minutes, Denzell Abrams broke the deadlock in the 20th minute. From there, Waramuri took control, with goals from Ricardo Lewis (21’), Shakeel Marks (37’), Orwin Abrams (40’), and Dwayne Boyal (45’) securing their third consecutive win. They now sit comfortably atop Group ‘A’ with nine points.

South Ruimveldt Secondary and Vreed-en-Hoop Secondary played to a goalless draw, while Tutorial High suffered their third consecutive defeat, falling 4-0 to Yarrowkabra Secondary. Leroy Evans stole the spotlight for Yarrowkabra, scoring twice in the 15th and 58th minutes. Mekaiya Daniels and Nicholi Morris added the other two goals to seal the victory.
Today’s action will see Chase’s Academic Foundation facing off with Three Mile Secondary in the opening match at MoE ground at 12:30 PM. Other matches at this venue include West Minster taking on St. John’s College in match #32, while Santa Rosa Secondary goes head-to-head with Charlestown Secondary. Two additional matches will take place at QC ground, where Bartica Secondary will meet Ann’s Grove Secondary, and West Demerara Secondary will clash with Hope Secondary.
